Stripey

Yoshi Kondo shirt.

I had some extra money from doing commissions, so I bought this at Lark. They even gave me a chocolate bar.

My life is perfect, and I will die happy.

Except that now I have to go work.

Marketing

I went with my sister to Granville Island, today, and bought three shinies for my hoard. The one on the far left is labradorite, which is one of my favourite stones. When it's all polished up, and faceted, it looks like an insect's wing, all veined with colour.

As a bread themed birthday present, my sister baked me a loaf of bread, and gave me a gift card to Terra Breads. She is a fine, fine woman. I've already eaten almost half the loaf - the first wodge as a salmon-salad-with-olives-and-tomato sandwich, and the second wodge drenched in finest mountain honey.

Later on, I walked up Main Street to the staitionary store, and bought a plain grey set of envelopes and paper, out of a yearning to write letters, nevermind that I don't have anywhere to send them, or anyone to send them to. Nevermind that I don't think I could write anything without a delete key, now, anyway.

Macarons II

I tried to invent some macarons this time around. Strawberry isn't exactly new, but matcha and white chocolate was my own idea. They were at least edible, I think.

Happy Birthday Marian?

Today is my birthday. I got bought muffins, then I walked around downtown until dinner at Campagnolo with my family. Then I went to Claire's house and watched a couple episodes of The Wire. Fine form, birthday, fine form.

I got some presents, too:

Rag and Bone sweater

Little japanese lunch box that I saw in a window a while back. I guess I made enough of an impression, pointing at it and jumping up and down and wailing that I wanted it (and then making jokes ever since about things that, uh, become large), that it got bought for me.

Sexy poetry, and an egg coddler.

Jeweled berries. Rarest of the rare treasures.

Tasty Quest

Things from Ganache. Fluffy little rum vanilla cakes of some sort, and sponge toffee. Whenever I go downtown, it becomes a quest for tasty things.

This toast knows what it's all about.

Shiny

They had these giant glass shinies at the dollar store. I needed one for my hoard. The waffle was damn tasty, too. It had little bits of crystalized sugar in it, so they paired oddly well.

And when I got back from Saturna, David had painted this garbage can and left it on my desk. I'm preparing my response, now.

Muffin

It's hard to find a good muffin, in this world.
This one is blueberry banana oat, from Our Town Cafe.

Macarons

Pistachio Macarons, and tea with too much milk. I tried to buy them from some random encounter pastry shop downtown, but they were so nasty and dusty and tasteless I had to go home immediately and make them myself.
